You have some nice window treatments up that you like and don’t want to change. You would like to change it up a little but don’t want to spent a fortune doing it. I like to change things around once in a while. Makes me feel good. One way to change the look of your window treatments is adding wood cornice boards.
The 5 1/2 inch Signature Wood Cornice by blindchalet.com bring a sophisticated, elegant appearance to your blinds, shades or drapes. Available in 6 colors, they’re very easy to install and reasonable in price. It is an all wood cornice for a rich look. It’s available with either painted or stained finishes to match the look your trying to create. The under side is finished as well.
This is important if your cornice is up higher or over a patio door. If you can see the under side you don’t want to see bare wood. Some companies let the under side of their cornice boards unfinished and customers see that right away. So a finished under side is a big plus.
Remember take care in determining your return size
They can be order as inside or more commonly as outside mounts. Inside mount cornice boards will not have any returns. Outside mounts will come with returns for a finished look from the side. Returns are available in several different sizes so it can fit over just about any type of window treatment. Remember take care in determining your return size. Too small and it won’t fit over your treatment. You want your returns to be about a inch longer than your treatment. So if your window treatment sticks out 3 inches away from the wall make your return 4 inches and your be fine.
Easy to install
They come with “L” brackets and are easy to install. Just mount the brackets in the wall and set the cornice on the brackets and from the underside fasten the cornice to the “L” bracket with a small screw. (see article “How to install a window treatment valance”)…..more info
