Magnetic blinds are becoming one of the most popular form of blinds out there on the market today due to their simplicity and sometime elegant look.
Normally when you think magnetic blinds, you think plain old boring metal blinds used in most office environments. Well think again, using magnetic blinds can make a window or door look extravagant and professional.
Great treatment for a metal door
Many doors leading to the outside are made out of metal. There are more secure, long lasting and very good insulators but the one thing they are not is forgiving. What I mean is if you drill into a wood door you can always patch the holes if you remove the treatment. With a metal door the holes will always be there unless you hire a professional to patch a hole in metal. For this reason I like the magnetic blind for a metal door.
What Are They Made From?
Magnetic blinds are made from only the sturdiest of materials, usually aluminum. This means they will definitely last a long time, not only that but they are very light and easy to pull up and put down. The best thing about magnetic blinds is they are incredibly easy to install. They practically come assembled and ready to go up. All you have to do is drill the holes and insert the hinges and away you go.
How Much Do They Cost?
Magnetic blinds are of course one of the cheapest varieties of blinds on the market. Don’t let that sway you’re decision, it doesn’t mean they are going to look cheap. In fact with the right colors on the windows or doors where you are placing them, they will actually make the place look more stylish then ever.
Most places sell magnetic blinds for under $50, depending on the size of the blind. You can pick them up from any good retail outlet across the country or better yet, you can shop online and save some money. There are many great online stores that stock all varieties of magnetic blinds and the best thing is you can order from the comfort of your own home and they’ll deliver it straight to your doorstep.

Hey Bob,
I was expecting to hear that these are indeed magnetic and stick to the metal frame of the door. Am I wrong in reading the name “magnetic blinds” too literally? I was pretty sure that aluminium was not magnetic which also made me think “are they really magnetic”. So where does the name come from?
In the UK we now have things like “easy-fit” blinds that don’t require drilling as long as you have the right kind of window. However, they are not cheap, in fact they are pretty expensive which as you can imagine, puts many people off straight away.
Who makes these magnetic blinds, I wouldn’t mind reading some more about them.
Have a great day.
Andy
Hi Andy
The blind is aluminium but it is the brackets which are magnetic. So the brackets will stick to the metal door then the blind slids into the brackets and hangs freely.
