The Esteam Handheld Fabric Steamer requires little maintance. I have had to clean mine only once since I have owned it. To clean it I just filled it with vinegar and let it run throught one complete cycle, thats it. I also attach a thin cloth over the vent just in case it splits a little water (as with all steamers). A sock works well.
